South Carolina’s Senator Tim Scott was sworn in to the US Senate in 2013. He is an African-American gentleman born into poor circumstances who at a young age recognized the wisdom of conservative American principles. (From Tim Scott’s website.)
In a May, 2023 interview with CBN Senator Scott said, “According to Ephesians 3:20 … ‘God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we ask or imagine,’” he said. “No one could have imagined my grandfather was picking cotton. I picked a seat in Congress … If there’s ever a time to tell the story of American progress, the time is now, and if there’s someone who’s been on both sides of that track, that’s lived the testimony, it is time for that person to stand up.”
Tim Scott is a candidate for President of the United States.
Scott said he is focused right now on his “mission” and is willing to invest the rest of his life in “restoring hope and creating opportunities and protecting America.”
The first time I heard the senator speak I was watching a US Senate session on CSPAN and he was giving a speech endorsing legislation about supporting law enforcement. He began his speech quoting for the book of Ezekiel. I had to check to make sure I was watching the US Senate. His argument was flawlessly rational and persuasive. Recently after announcing his candidacy for president he has received continuous media attention, embraced by many conservatives and evangelicals, attacked by liberals and Trump supporters.
Barack Obama criticized the senator when the former president called out minority GOP candidates and alleged that they gloss over historic racism and do not acknowledge it, arguing that voters should be “skeptical” of these candidates.
Scott pushed back on Obama by arguing that the “truth of my life disproves the lies of the radical left,” while speaking on Fox’s Fox News Sunday.
There is no question why liberals gang up on Scott. He was a successful businessman, and he is a powerfully articulate politician who defies their attempts at indoctrinating the nation into believing the “systemic racism” ideology. And he is an outspoken disciple of Jesus Christ.
When asked his opinion about the recent SCOUS decision regarding affirmative action at Harvard and UNC on a Fox News interview he said,
“This is a good day for America where we understand that being judged by the content of our character not the color of our skin is what our constitution wants.
The progress we are seeing this nation is palpable. That’s good news for every corner of this nation. I thank God almighty that America continues to work towards the concept of a more perfect union.
Our education system is the marvel of the world.”
I suppose this type of rhetoric is just too positive, too optimistic for those whose mission it is to cast America in the worst possible light so that they can “fix” the nation with socialistic policies, not-so-gradually drawing us into communism.
Senator Tim Scott Speaks for me. He’s not ashamed of the gospel.
